‘Silver Surfer 2.0’ Fox Body Rocks Wooostock 2K18 in South Carolina

By -

Nasty Fox Body Mustang hits the strip for a win light and cash.

Grudge matches and no time races are some of the best drag races around, and brings out some of the best cars too. This Fox Body, nicknamed Silver Surfer 2.0 showed up at the Wooostock 2K18 races and made some impressive runs. Darlington Raceway in Hartsville, South Carolina hosted the Wooostock Radial Vs World races on April 13 to 14, and had an awesome collection of run groups for great grudge racing. No times here, you get a win light and $5000 in cold hard cash.

Running in the N/T small block nitrous class, this Fox Body sounds mean, and interestingly runs a full tail exit exhaust, too. It looks like it could hook on gravel, as it leaves the line perfectly each time on a few solo runs. We’ll have to speculate on what kind of times are run by this small block, but clearly power is being put down with a long wheelie being pulled on the second run. With races lasting only 1/8th of a mile, that hook makes or breaks the race.

Aside from the N/T small block nitrous class, there were also classes for no time small block with boost, no time small block with nitrous, no time 29/315, no time 28/275, no time Carolina 28/275 and no time Radial vs The World classes, each with their own $5000 cash payout.

Last year at the Wooostock races, records were set for cars on 275 drag radials with the first ever three-second, 1/8-mile run, and the quickest side-by-side radial race ever. This year looked to be just as packed with action, including some big names in grudge racing action.
