Heartbreaking Footage of Mustang Consumed by Magma in Hawaii

By -

New Edge Mustang is helplessly ravaged by Kilauea volcano eruption on ‘The Big Island’ (Island of Hawaii) in new CBS News video.

Kilauea is the most active volcano in Hawai’ian Islands, and it erupted near the city of Pahoa and the Leilani Estates on May 4. The fountain eruptions have destroyed many homes, roads, vehicles and other constructs.

CBS affiliate KHOU11 recently posted a video of someone’s poor Mustang being completely destroyed by magma. And boy, is it disturbing.

Watching a head-on shot of the slow-moving lava burn right through the metal gate is both astonishing and unsettling. And as you can imagine, the parked Mustang catches fire immediately once the black, monstrous-looking magma flow draws near. It’s like a horror movie—only in slow motion and based completely in reality.

No matter how gut-wrenching this scene may be, at least no one was hurt or killed, and we at Mustang Source are most relieved at that. Cars can be replaced. People? Not so much.
