Exclamation Rearend breather--leaking fluid in hard LH turns

Guys:

Not sure if any of you have experienced this (yet), but my rear differential is leaking fluid from the diff breather under hard left turns.

Found my passenger side axle tube coated w/ diff fluid this after the last HPDE (also first time running slicks--cornering force byproduct! )

What are you guys doing to combat this from happening? A friend suggested extending the breather tube

Is it possible to plug the breather during track days only, and not have any negative effects?

You don't want to plug it, it will start blowing out at the axle seals eventually.

On the race cars, we extend the breather with a line up to a catch bottle, set up so it can drain back into the axle when things cool down.

Actually the first iteration of our breather bottle was an emergency trackside fix that consisted of a length of tube clamped to a brather w/ the cap cut off, and the tube went to a "custom" gatorade-branded catch bottle that was ziptied to I think the chassis side panhard mount, lol. it worked remarkably well, though I'd recommend something a little more polished, lol.

Excellent, this is what I was thinking of doing (although with a more purpose-specific bottle ). Do you have a picture or two of your current setup, so I can get an idea of best place for mounting, etc? This would be really helpful for me as I'm fabbing my own setup.

Unfortunately, I don't. We try not to post detail photos ourselves for competitive reasons. (If a competitor wants the details they have to come take their own stinking pics! lol). But our bottles are presently mounted inside the trunk, which probably isn't an option for you anyway since yours is a street car.
