Rendering of New High-Performance Mustang Variant Emerges

Besides with all the photos we’ve been getting overloaded with of the new standard and GT model, we could use a new visual to get us amped up for the car.

One of the first we’ve stumbled on comes from the guys over at Auto Week featuring an s550 with that iconic cobra planted right in the grille. Exactly what that higher-performance variant will be called is still up in the air. But apparently there are a few names making the rounds including GT500, GT350, SVO, Mach 1 and SVT Cobra.

Many of us here at TMS like the idea of reviving the SVO or Mach 1 nameplate, but the idea of a SVT Cobra certainly has a nostalgic appeal as well.

No official word on exactly when the higher-performance Mustang variant will hit the street so for now this rendering and the other speculations will have to hold us over
