The cat’s finally out of the bag. After many months of spy shots and endless speculation, the S550 is out for everyone to see. The reaction to Ford’s latest rendition of the pony car has been, well, all over the place. Though from what I’ve seen, it’s been largely positive. I’m inclined to agree… But I do understand why people keep calling it a “Musion.” The family resemblance is strong with this one.

Here are a few quotes from the Mustang unveiling thread. Let us know what you think below!

Well done Ford. I like it a lot. Really, nothing a super surprise; retro gone, more modern with what should be a world wide appeal. Retro is been there done that; haters move on.

At first I didn’t like the ’11 make over. Then, I came around and love the front end.
At first I couldn’t stand the black taillights on the ’13s and now I kinda want them.
I did NOT like the ’15 at first glance… nor 7th glance. But now, yeah I like it. It sure is pretty!
It’s not screaming Mustang anymore, but we knew that was coming.
This is a sports car, not a Muscle car. -and that’s okay.

Overall Mustang has always had a lot to offer everyone over the years that has kept this car an Icon to treasure whether on the street, strip or sitting in the garage. This new stang will do the same giving the opportunity for those in other countries that never had chance to buy one to now own one. As long as the formula for keeping this car affordable to the average middle class consumer it will do well.
For me I won’t buy it, the heritage Mustang front end is gone and so is the side “C’ stripe insert in the side body,…. now it looks like any other European car. Glad I bought My 05 Mustang, great tribute to a classic design.

Thanks you Ford for letting me keep my money and my 07 GT instead of buying a Mustang made ala Mazda style. Might as well put a rotary engine in it.

There are things I like, but too many I don’t like. The biggest let down is how much the front end looks like a Ford Fusion. I can’t get past that. Even if this car has sick HP and performance I don’t care. The front of that car is terrible except for those light stripes and hood lines. I really like the interior though. Those toggle switches are awesome. …But a push-button start?? There’s something to be said about turning that key and hearing the engine rumble in a mustang. Push buttons are for coffee makers and TV remotes.
