How Not to Tune a Turbo Mustang In The Rain
The Mustang GT is a powerful rear-wheel-drive muscle car. Add in some rain, and things get hairy fast.
The Ford Mustang GT is an awesome platform for modification. It offers a powerful V8 from the factory and aftermarket parts are readily available. Building a turbo Mustang is a few clicks on the computer and some wrenching away from a reality. This Mustang owner took a completely totaled Mustang and built a twin turbo setup in his garage. YouTube Channel B is for Build is all about second chances. The channel focuses on buying crash damage cars and rebuilding them into fun performance cars. The channel’s turbo Mustang is a perfect example. The car had some body damage and it got reborn with some cool upgrades in the process. A DIY turbo system was built on the car, but it never got the final tune to get it running right.

In this video, B is for Build shows us a super sketchy way to road tune a turbo Mustang. For starters is it raining, which is common in the Portland area, but it is not ideal for a high horsepower car. Secondly, the car is completely out of fuel, and it doesn’t make it out of the driveway before running out. Third, the front wheels on the car are not completely bolted on and they almost come off on the test drive. Forth, the exhaust is too low on the side exit and the tips fall out. Fifth and final, the car does not have current tags to drive on the road.
We are all about doing things on a budget, but most of these are safety concerns. Not just for the people in the turbo Mustang, but for the other drivers on the wet roads. Be safe out there.
