Possibly Insane Man Fills Gas Tank with Coca-Cola

Watching this hurts us as much as it hurts you.

The internet is full of interesting life hacks. This is not one of them. This viral video comes to us from the TechRax YouTube channel. Usually the TechRax guys are finding new and creative ways to abuse their iPhones. But in their latest video, they decided to take it up a notch, with a 2003 BMW 325i wagon.

BMW Gas Tank Coke

The video starts with a simple premise: What would happen if a 2-liter bottle of Coke was poured into the gas tank of a ’03 Beemer? Okay, yes, the BMW has seen better days, but we’re fairly certain the old girl still had some life left in her. Had.

There is already a little gas in the tank, so they go ahead and pour the whole bottle in. Then they take the car on the road. After about a minute they start hearing noises, to which one guy replies, “I think it’s the carbonization…it’s, like, bubbling or something.” The car starts sputtering, the “Check Engine” light comes on, and the Beemer stalls out. In the end, they show what a mechanic estimates it will cost to fix the car.

We’re not sure why anyone would be compelled to do this, but it is entertaining. And our MVP is a commenter on YouTube named ‘Hi There’, who says “Now put Mentos in it.”

What are your thoughts on this soda on Beemer crime?
