The good state of Indiana will have serious stake in the new 2015 Mustang when it begins production later this year.

NSK Corp., a major automotive supplier with facilities in the Hoosier state, will be machining and assembling all the s550’s bearings, according to a recent Pal-item report. The actual machining of the parts will take place in the company’s Liberty city plant with the assembling to take place in NSK’s Franklin, Ind. plant.

NSK is spending $4.6 mill on equipment to handle the work load for the new Ford pony car.

“The bearings we produce will go into every Mustang,” said NSK plant manager Brian Grissom. “It’s a common bearing that goes into all platforms, from custom to high end.” Grissom said the company will also add additional assembly lines at its Liberty facility for the s550.

That should definitely pull in a few more Mustang fans from Lincoln’s boyhood home.
