Mustangs in the Movies – I am Legend
It hurts to say this, but we would trade the majority of your healthy human existences for the 2007 Shelby GT500 that Will Smith drives around an abandoned New York City in Francis Lawrence’s I Am Legend. While there’s certainly something disconcerting about the fact that Big Willy’s ride can’t keep up with a herd of deer, we’ll attribute that to driver error. Deer should be no problem, what with 500 horsies pushed out of a supercharged 5.4-liter DOHC V8, even if ol’ Shelby is pushing maximum density at 3,896 pounds.
While that may be a bit clunky for some, just think how effective the weight would be for mowing down zombies. When the sound of squealing zombies becomes too much for our tired ears, we’ll just rev up and drown out all that post-apocalyptic rage with the sound of sweet, sweet Mustang.
