Mustang Tries to Take a Tesla P85D
The Tesla P85D is a brilliantly ridiculous car. It makes more torque than God, and does so silently. For many, it is the future of the automotive enthusiast community. For others, it’s the devil incarnate, representing the demise of the internal combustion engine. That’s why whenever one turns up at a local drag strip, everyone and their mother comes out to see if they can take the Ludicrous Mode sedan down.
In the video below, a supercharged, 4.6-liter Fox Body Mustang aims to take the electric family sedan down a few pegs. However, things don’t exactly go the Mustang’s way. The races being held are only 1/8 mile drags, but even with a little extra room, we’re not too sure that the Mustang could have taken the mighty Tesla down.
But the Mustang isn’t the only challenger to fall. According to the video’s description, all of the cars are making over 500 horsepower, except for the Tesla. And the only car that really can take on the Tesla seems to be a drag prepped C7 Corvette with full on skinny tires up front and drag radials in the rear.
