Mustang Narrowly Escapes Train Collision
Good Samaritans Help Push a Mustang off the Tracks, Seconds Before a Train Rolls By
Talk about a close call. When it comes to dangerous situations in a Mustang, they don’t get much scarier than this. I’m sure a lot of people here at The Mustang Source can attest to the feeling one gets after avoiding an accident. But how about escaping a near collision with a train?
Well, that’s something entirely different.
The incident took place on a snow-covered railroad in Portland, Oregon. Apparently, the problem started after the Mustang got stuck in the ruts on the tracks.

As you can see below, a news helicopter in the area filmed the entire event, as it was unfolding. Fortunately, a few concerned citizens can be seen racing up to the Mustang, and helping to push the car over the tracks. They free the car just before a train barrels through the intersection.
Andrew Rasmussen, who witnessed the incident, said it took about four to five people to push the Mustang to safety. He also has a little advice for all sport car owners, when it comes to dealing with Old Man Winter.
“Rear wheel drive, real low sports car, yeah probably not the best to be on these kind of roads,” Rasmussen tells KATU News.
Although, after watching the video, you get the sense that the driver of the Mustang really has no idea how close a call this was.
Wow! Close call between a car and a MAX train: When this driver got stuck on the tracks, a few Good Samaritans rushed to push it out of the way moments before the train came through.
