Chris Romanoff has a hard time resisting temptation when it comes to the newest and best Mustangs. And he’s fine with that.

“Firsts” have a way of creating lasting impressions for us, most notably with cars. For Chris Romanoff, that event was marked with the Mustang, and solidified a life long connection to the pony car.

Mustang Enthusiast Shares His Admiration of the Mustang's Evolution

Chris’s first car at 15 years old was a ’67 Mustang, but he’d already found a love for Ford long before then. Recalling his father’s purchase of a 1968 Torino, Chris states “if I were a little older or more astute, I would have dragged him around the back to where the 428 Cobra Jet Mustang GT fastbacks were. Oh, well!”

But firsts come and go, and the ’67 Mustang soon suffered from some rusting. Attempting to restore a car and attend college was a big pill for Romanoff, which prompted the move to a different car. Eventually another Mustang found its way in his life, in the form of an ’85 Mustang GT.

Upgrading to a new Mustang became a regular occurrence with Chris, with the carbed GT leading to a fuel injected Fox Body. When the inevitable family came around, the Mustang rotation took a break. Mustang SN95 was too much to resist, and a garage stall was yet again dedicated to Ford’s sports car. But then came along the S-197.

As of right now, Chris has an S197, but he opted for a special one. Speed is important, so a 2007 Parnelli Jones Saleen Heritage Edition Mustang was purchased. As a weekend toy, Chris loves it, and he’s decided to complement it with a 2015 S550 Mustang GT as a stable mate.

As stories go, this one is nowhere near over. Romanoff is very well aware of the GT350, and his desire for speed is ever-burning.
