MagnaFlow ‘No Drone Tech’ Is Killer on Mustang GT Modular Exhaust
MagnaFlow xMOD Series is built for the enthusiast; interchangeable parts, customizable tone, volume and most importantly, performance.
MagnaFlow recently released its xMOD Series modular performance exhaust system for the 2018-2020 Ford Mustang GT Coupe. Engineered with enthusiasts in mind, the xMOD Series allows owners to quickly swap parts to customize exhaust tone and volume based on personal preference. The xMOD Series offers all of the quality and performance benefits associated with a MagnaFlow premium exhaust system, including stainless-steel construction with a lifetime warranty and dyno-proven performance gains.
The modular design of the MagnaFlow xMOD Series exhaust is made possible by race-bred v-band clamps that allow for easy installation and removal of components. The supplied Tru-X Muffler Module delivers the deep, aggressive exhaust note MagnaFlow is known for with a proven straight-through Tru-X core design and a 4-inch x 9-inch oval by 14-inch long muffler. The xTreme Delete Module, as its name implies, fully uncorks the Mustang’s Coyote V8 for that race car sound (recommended for track use only).
Both the Tru-X Muffler Module and xTreme Delete Module can be paired with the xTreme Bypass Module to further refine the exhaust note and volume of the Mustang GT. For Mustangs equipped with standard exhaust, the xTreme Bypass module allows for sound level changes using a simple 11-millimeter tool. The bypass can be manually opened to go from stealth to competition with the Tru-X Muffler module, or from street to race with the xTreme Delete Module. Mustangs with factory-fitted Active Exhaust benefit from a MagnaFlow-designed valve that seamlessly integrates with the stock actuators.
The valved system provides the same changes in sound, but controlled remotely from the comfort of the cabin. If a more aggressive sound is always desired, the remote valve can be removed completely with the xTreme Bypass module, providing for a continuous race-inspired experience.
The Mustang xMOD Series further allows for the integration of MagnaFlow NDT (No Drone Technology) resonators, designed to cancel frequencies commonly referred to as drone. The NDT resonators are fitted with the same ease-of-use v-band clamps, making exhaust customization simple from header to tailpipe. Out back, customers can also choose from MagnaFlow’s upcoming line of exhaust tips, with exotic options like carbon fiber soon to be available.
Depending on the configuration, the 2018-2020 Mustang GT Coupe X-Mod Series modular performance exhaust nets 16-18 horsepower and 15-16 lb -ft torque at the rear wheels. All modular exhaust configurations perform within 2 horsepower of each other, meaning the total flow is always improved over factory regardless of your setup.
All MagnaFlow exhaust systems come with a Lifetime Construction Warranty and each kit includes all the necessary hardware and components for a complete bolt-on installation. Priced at $3,000, the MagnaFlow xMOD Series performance exhaust system for the 2018-2020 Mustang GT Coupe is available now, exclusively at MagnaFlow.
