Liberty Walk Wide-Body Ford Mustang: Terrible or Tasteful?

By -

Liberty Walk's body kit for the 2018 Mustang.

This Mustang body kit is as wide as it gets.

The Mustang has never been a slim car, but that hasn’t stopped Liberty Walk from equipping the new model with a fantastic body kit that makes it eat up even more of the road. Take a look at the tuner’s new project and see what it can do for your favorite pony car.

Liberty Walk is no stranger to adding body kits to muscle cars. This Japanese shop has made body kits for Japanese cars like the Nissan GT-R and Toyota 86. They’ve even branched out into exotics, with body kits for Lamborghinis and Ferraris.

They’ve also gotten their hands on American muscle cars. One of their most well-known body kits is for the Dodge Challenger, so it’s no surprise that the Mustang would be their next choice, especially with all the new features on the 2018 model.

Liberty Walk revealed their new Mustang body kit ahead of its official release, which is scheduled for October 9th.

The core kit includes fender flares, a front splitter and replacement hood up front, and side skirts. For the rear, there’s a spoiler and rear diffuser. To complete the look, you can also opt for Airrex adjustable air suspension and new tires — ultra wide, of course — to match the car’s new look.

One thing about this body kit is that it doesn’t have the smooth OEM body lines that you might find in some other kits.  This is a shout out to Liberty Walk’s Japanese styling, so you’ll find things like exposed rivets on the fender flares to break up the smooth lines.

If you don’t want the whole kit, don’t worry — you can purchase the individual pieces to add a little bit of character to your new or old Mustang.
