Fast Things Happen When You Turbo a Notchback
What happens when you put a snail (turbo), which is practically larger than the front bumper, onto your Notchback? Or how ’bout one that has roughly the same diameter as a stock Mustang rim?
Decimation of all who oppose you, that’s what.
What you see before you is a 1992 Ford Mustang Foxbody Notchback. It has a 331 V8 built by Ed Thomas Performance Engines and a… wait for it… an 88mm turbo. So you know, it’s fast as hell.
However, it doesn’t look like it has enough tire to make it go really fast, right? They’re definitely drag radials, but the width just doesn’t look up to the task of keeping all that horsepower on the ground. Let’s find out.
Alright, I was wrong. A 9-second pass is hugely impressive for this car, and add to the fact that it’s over 20-years-old and this car is straight up bonkers. I can’t imagine what it’s like driving on the street.
