With Winter Still in Full Force, a GT350 Owner Uses the Time to Do a Polish, Clay Bar, and Detail Treatment

Snow isn’t much fun when you have a sports car. Most of us will store our cars for a few months, maybe more. So what do we do with the downtime? Give our cars a detail and polish, of course!

Reddit provides us with this example, a gorgeous Avalanche Gray GT350. The owner, who goes by olmoscd, reports the use of polish and Carnauba, both of which make the GT350 look better than brand new.

Intricacies of the car were uncovered in the detail and polish process, with panel gaps being notably larger than those found on cars from Germany. Overall though, olmosed likes the car’s universal appeal: “People stop and compliment the car every time I take it out. Corvette guys, BMW guys, doesn’t matter. The car is pretty well liked.”

This story gets us thinking about how our fellow Mustang Source members store their rides for the winter. Parking it in the garage is the obvious solution, but do you also use a car cover or trickle charger? Are you one of the brave ones who throws a set of snow tires on? Let us know!
