Goodyear Gets the Nod for new Mustang

It looks like you’ll be rolling on Goodyear tires if you buy a new 2015 Mustang equipped with the V6 or turbocharged EcoBoost engine.

Well, that is if you choose to keep the ones offered when you first purchase your new pony car.

According to a Tire Business report, Ford has announced that the 3.7-liter base V6 and 4-cylinder Eco Boost models will be fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season tires.

More specifically, the base Mustang will be fitted with 235/55R17 all-seasons standard, with a 235/50R18 and 255/40R19 all-seasons and 265/35R20 summer tired offered as optional. The V6 model will also be offered with a performance package fitment of 255/40R19 summer.

The Mustang equipped with the EcoBoost engine will be equipped with a standard 235/55R17 all-season tire standard and the 235/50R18 all-season tire as an option. The V8-powered GT Mustang will be equipped with Pirelli P Zero and P Zero Nero All-Season tires.

In contrast, the 2014 Mustang is fitted with a P225/60HR17 A/S BFGoodrich Radial T/A tire as standard for the manual model and Michelin Energy Saver P215/65TR17 A/S as standard for the automatic. Pirelli PZero Nero tires are offered as an option on the 2014 model.
