Model Mustang
Color Silver Smoke Metallic
History
Bought from original owner's widow in unrestored condition (car lived its entire life in Ft. Worth) on 11 February 2011.
Stripped down to metal shell and sent for media blasting & body work on 5 March 2011.
Received back from body shop 30 June 2011.
Put back together and back on the road 9 July (took a week off work and spent seven 12 hour days... temp was 105 every single day :^).
----------
Exterior
Added GT style stripe and GT fog lights
Other than hail damage repair and stripping paint, the only body work required was repair of 1/2" rust hole in lower driver door (caused by clogged drain).
Car was in Wimbledon White when purchased, and I chose to go with the Silver Smoke... I had promised to show the original owner the car when I finished, and was surprised when she said "Oh, you painted it back to the original color!" Turns out the Silver had peeled the first year and the dealer repainted it white.
