ive had my 4.0 for about eight months now i need to start modding which works better the SCT or diablo tuner also were is the cheapest place to buy one online.

I have a Diablo and it has been a pain. I vote SCT, its what my dad has on his and its easy to use and there are more authorized dealers in the area for re-tuning purposes. That may be something you'll want to check out too, because if you are going to do any major mods, i.e. s/c, it will be easier to get support.

 

Another vote for SCT! It's very easy to use and I love my tune!

 

I can only speak on my own experience... SCT User friendly and versatile. I must say though, it's not so much the tuner(hardware) but the turner(person) that's most important.

The fact of the matter is, 90% of the Fastest Mustangs in the United States are tunned with a DiabloSport...

What does that mean? It means that when it really counts, and you put it all on the line, Diablo is kicking SCT's azz!

 

I'd go with what your local dyno/tuner uses. I had the Diablo, but none of the shops near me used them, except on Diesel trucks. LOL.

It seems on the S197, the SCT XCAL2 is dominant. Plus for the autos, I think here are more parameters you can tune with the XCAL vs. the Pred.

For this platform, I doubt the fastest car will be dicated by the handheld device.

 

I have 2 DiabloSport Predator Tuners, but they came with my CAI w/Tune. So I love them and have no issues, but if you are going to SuperCharge a 4.0, go SCT.

 

Well, having had both, the SCT is my choice, I don't know where this comment comes from. They both can load the same tune, it is really a matter of user friendliness, the SCT is much better in that respect.

 

The fastest Mustangs in the country use stand-alones.

 

I vote for SCT. Many tuner and lots of great feedback. I don't think the original poster was looking for the worlds fastest mustang just a great tuner that he can use to improve his car with ease!
For that the SCT is the way to go!
