OK, I called ERL and it said as of 11/21/2006 my unit was released by the plant and shipped via rail carrier with an estimated arrival date the week of 11/29/2006. Is this the last update ERL will have for me or will it actually tell me when it has been delivered?

 

You'll get notified by your dealer that the car has arrived on the lot before the ERL updates, typically. You can get your vin and get the rail car number and further track it that way if you wish. There are a couple of threads on here discussing how to do that.

 

How do you get the rail car #? i tracked my '05 GT when it was on the train. But that was a couple of years ago, i thought i got it from Ford C/S ?

 

The only place I've ever seen the RC # is on the dealer's Daily Status Report. Good luck though. A lot of salesmen don't even know it's on there... and some don't even know what the DSR is.

Then, the day before the ERL told me to expect it my salesman called! You won't get any updates after is has shipped, and in my opinion it's not worth the hassle of tracking the railcar. It will be there soon enough.
