Bride confines me to the Dog house after bone headed move.
Well, three months into the ownership of our '18 GT I was the one to commit the first boo-boo while driving her car. I decided we would stop at one of our favorite Mom & Pop's burger joint here in our little town. Pulled into the lot, and saw what I thought was the perfect big fat parking place next to the building at an angle beside the curb .......curb being the operative word in this horrifying story of woe. Yep, you guessed it. While backing out I make the fatal mistake of turning the wheel to soon, and that was when I heard that blood curdling "crunch". Curbed the dayum wheel, yes I did. Being very close to the local dealer I bought the car from, I was directed by the bride to get there PDQ to rectify this man made disaster. Luckily the wheel repair guy was scheduled to be at the dealer on Monday (yesterday), and I got a slot to get 'er fixed. Picked it up, installed it today, and the repair is completely unnoticeable. I was finally able to peak out of the dog house door, and let the sun shine down upon my face. It was a beautiful moment of freedom.
BTW, that dad-gum hamburger cost me 133 bucks. It was good, but not that good.

Three months you say? You got me beat. I got rear ended in my 2005 GT 5 months after bringing her home. Thankfully it wasn't that bad just a dented bumper but it really hurt because when I got home the UPS driver was just pulling up with my SLP Loudmouth axle-back exhaust.

Ouch! I feel your pain.
Yes we all have one eventually, mine was a bit more $$$. I just bought a replacement wheel with tire and sensor. Still have the scuffed up one with a 3/4" flat repair crater in the tire. I am surprised it is still holding air. Still need to get it fixed, and it is only about what you paid to repair the rim. I just use that one for a spare now. With the crater in the tire I hope it never has to go on the car...
This thread tells the story if you are wondering what happened...

Next time just go to Hardee's for their $130 Hamburger ®, for only $6.
At least it's fixed. That's one thing I'm worried about with my newly painted black wheels. I'd had my share of curb rash with my last one. Wasn't that noticeable with the stock Aluminum wheels, so I just left them.
