I wanted a start button in my dash, but did not like the off centre ones offered by SHR. There really is nothing else out there. I tried the keyless ignition system by EasyGo, and did like that, but had issues with it, so I went back to stock.
I still wanted a button, even if I still needed a key in the ignition (I know it is pointless, but I wanted it, OK?) so I looked at the Honda S2000 button. Worked well in my 05, and I liked the look of the red with illuminated lettering.
So to get it to fit, I cut a hole in the flap door to allow the button to sit in it. I then had to glue sheet styrene to the back to allow it to sit inset a bit. Then dremeled out the plastic in behind. The shift of the Honda button was dremeled down to be smooth so it could slide in.
The chrome looks better IMO. Fits in with the rest of the chrome trim on the dash. Now if you made all of the trim black, then you might be on too something
