I figured they used a green VFD display, but I guess it is actually white and the overlay sets the color.
I got my aluminum overlay in and installed.
Install is really easy. The dash was a little hard to pull off. I ended up pulling apart my left most vent instead of getting the dash off, ha! And every time I put on the speedo needle and turned off the car and restarted, it would move to a different spot, even without repostioning the needle. Weird. I might of move the needle a little, and got it out of sync or something. Anyway, finally worked out, and needles just where I want them.
During the bright sunlight, guages are pretty hard to read. The indicator lights are pretty tough to read. I found turning on the parking lights, and setting the MyColor to 1,1,1 gives a dark color that's pretty easy to read during the day.
At night, the needles have a lot of red glow around the black center, so a lot more red of a red glow around them. And the green odomoter screen is brighter than before, more of a bright light green.
I like the indicator lights much better at night. Before, the cruise control light was too bright, now it's much dimmer, which I like. But like I said, don't expect to be able to read any of those lights in bright sunlight.
They look really good, and I like them, despite all my criticisms. The aluminum looks good with the IUP. For a hundred bucks and ease of install, they're worth it for me.

Glad you like your new aluminum colored gauge overlay with the green odometer window. As you know, I have the blue odometer window and it too is brighter than OEM, so it must be a more transparent film they are using. As you found out, the most time-consuming part was getting the needles back on correctly. I once had them on and positioned perfectly, even after turning off the car a couple times. Then all I did was unplug the electrical connecter on the back, so I could pull the assembly out one final time, so I would have the room re-attach the cover thingy properly, which I did. After I put the assembly (cover and all) back into the dash to secure it with the four screws, I noticed that the position of the tach and speedo needles had changed again. Yes, this aftermarket product has got a couple weaknesses, but I am still very satisfied. On a scale from 1 to 10, I give this mod a 9.
