I was 35. Saw a new Silver over Black 1979 Cobra, with the TRX package, at the dealer's and could not leave without it. Eight months later packed up the wife and kids and headed for Rhein-Main AB, Germany, from South Dakota. The only place to really drive a Mustang is the 'Bahn! Next, a 1986 SVO, White and in the same dealers show room, in SD. Then a 1997 Cobra, again from the same dealer, followed by a 2007 GT/CS purchased two days before I retired (for the second time) in Denton, TX. And, now the current 2011 GT/CS, purchased from the dealer I bought the '79 (et al) from. Had a lot of other cars in between the Mustangs, but always came back. It is an addiction. Cannot wait to see the next gen.

The week I turned 18 I went Mustang shopping, and ended up with my 1st, a 1981 Mustang Cobra, orange/black with T-tops, 4.2L V8 making all of 120 hp, and the C4 auto transmission. I loved the car except for its anemic power plant. I even called the Ford Performance Hotline asking what I could do to make it faster, and they said basically nothing, it was a crappy engine they only used for 2-3 years. A year or so later I bought a 1979 Cobra parts car with a 5.0 and swapped the engine into my '81 and did a few things to hop it up. Still not terribly fast, but I loved it and it drew a lot of attention.
32, 2006 Pony Package, manual- fell in love with mustangs after my uncle would take me for rides in his 67 Pony (maroon with black vinyl). Fell back in love when the 2005's came out. My wife as agreed that will always have a mustang in the garage. She's a good one
I had just turned 32 when I ordered my 2012 GT Premium.
I wanted a metallic red on saddle 1996 GT with the new 4.6 when I first got my licence in high school, but I had no money of my own, and my family wasn't the spoiling type, so I drove one of my dad's cars, of which I was glad to have the use.
After getting my first job out of graduate school, I considered getting a 2005 white on black GT, but purchased a more sensible and fuel efficient car instead. That was a mistake. I rectified it in 2010 when I ordered my Challenger R/T Classic right before my 31st birthday and in 2011 when I ordered my 2012 GT. Life's too short to buy boring appliance cars.

Driftboatbum,
Laughing, as I did buy an old 89 Town Car just to drive to work and my wife hated it. My son spent more time driving it sideways on dirt roads than necessary , so when the County Sheriff called my wife about his antics, we both were on her bad side with the Lincoln.
PS - my other car is a 2008 Viper ACR with a few little innocent mods to get it to 690hp. Got to live up to my nickname , and the Boss definitely helps keep me ageless -- well , at least in my mind ,ha,ha!
