Got this nice bolt with the spray and pray method using my Canon 70D.

I use Lightning Camera app on my cellphone. It is great. Ran this one through the Photoshop Express app.

A few of my pics of the northern lights last night. Still need to work on focusing in the dark among other things.

Nice.

I took this one Friday night. Wish I had the camera tilted just a tad higher though.

The reddish arch in the picture isn't the product of the camera or the lightning, it was actually in the sky. The sun was setting and shining underneath the clouds. It would have been a rainbow but the sunset was very red.

Why focus? You're more than 30 feet away from the sky. Can't you just set to infinity?

Lens I was using has no markings and it just keeps spinning beyond a certain point so its hard to know. I did buy a wide angle lens though which should make things easier.

Doesn't it have a switch to go to manual focus?

I don't know enough about Houston to answer that so I consulted a map. I'd say inside the I-610 loop. Northwest section of that loop.
