I know you've been doing it for a long time, but how long does it take for you to get everything set up for a shot like that? Just a quick movement of your lighting rigs or do you take a few to think it over?

 

Other than the bedroom shot all images were natural light. I usually shoot early am or within an hour of sunset. These are your golden hours. If I do use a flash I shoot it off camera using triggers. This will improve the depth of subject and it will not look so flat.

Please ask any questions that you have. Learn the basics. Aperture and shutter speed.

Very cool. Lightning can be hard to capture.

 

That's especially impressive considering it's a cell phone. I got this one years ago, by constantly snapping pics, and happened to get a good one. (3 sec shutter speed helps)

Thanks. It is a dji Phantom 3 Advanced. Also takes 1080p video. Has GPS and barometric stabilization, really easy to fly.

 

Yeh David. We live in a zero lotline patio home neighborhood. Mostly old fart empty nesters like us. We had a lot of drunken block parties when everyone first moved in 13 years ago. But we have all "grown up" and now we just meet at the local wine bar once a month.

I warned my neighbors that they better start closing their bedroom window blinds.
