If you wanted to get really silly technical about it you would only see that view along the northeast and southwestern edges of the city along the coast. North is pine forest and west runs into the hill country as you get close to Austin or San Antonio.
I'm a 7th generation Native Texan BTW. My in-laws live in Katy and my younger brother-in-law is a Houston cop. I know the area.
For you, I would recommend taking a weekend trip to Arkansas sometime. Take the Mustang, I think you would love it.
Take a 3 day weekend there. 6-7 hour drive, 2 nights at a hotel, spend the weekend enjoying the sights. Everyone needs to get out of Texas once in a while and see what the rest of the country has to offer.

And the GTR is amazing. I've been trying to convince him for months to get one and he finally pulled the plug. Doing a full blown Launch on the streets is incredible, as there is no tire spin. Now I am just trying to convince him to thrown an Alpha 7 package on it...
