Yeah I had to duckduckgo that one up. Sounds like its Lee's kind of party.

My husband celebrated his 30th birthday last week. He grew up shrimping with his dad, so a Low Country Boil was a fitting theme for his party.
I created a shrimp design that was used on the invitation, stamped on heavyweight napkins and on favor bags.
We had Low Country Boil (shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes and Conecuh sausage), Pasta Salad, Oriental Salad and Broccoli Salad.
For dessert – Toasted Butter Pecan Cake, White Chocolate Pretzels, Brownie Muffins and Caramel Corn. The Pecan cake and Caramel Corn are SUPER delicious! Sweet Tea and Lemonade were served in Mason jars and we used our Water Bottle Labels that coordinated with the invitations.

Guess since I'm in the mountains it would be a 'High Country' Berl.

Still haven't tried this yet, maybe in a few months when I get back down on the coast we'll be able to try it out one night.

I've never heard it called a Low Country Boil

They'll call it a shrimp boil here

Shrimp, new potatoes, corn on the cob, and usually sausage and crab too.

We used to make it when I was a kid and never knew what it was called. Just a shrimp boil with the fixins.

I think i'll pass on a boiled pizza.

Besides the obvious lobster, the only boiled anything we have here that I can think of is a boiled dinner, which is usually corned beef, potatoes, cabbage, and carrots all boiled together.

I thought seafood was also important there besides Irish culture. Nantucket, Cape Cod, etc.

Clams, lobstah, clam chowdah, fish and chips, it's all there. It's more on the coast and the Cape that you see clam shacks that sell that stuff. I don't like seafood except for fish and chips so I don't pay it too much attention unless I can get a good burger too and some onion rings.

Which one? Spicy and hot, regular hickory smoked, cajun? Got to be one of those, looks like the small link. No crawdads or crab claws?

I've still got a slab of the Conecuh bacon in the freezer that I picked up at the plant when I was there a few months ago. It was good stuff. Still got that whole ham too, need to cook it soon.

It was 10lbs of gulf shrimp and 5 lbs of regular conecuh.

Oh I agree, but its tough to get crawfish up here unless someones making a trip to the coast. This was only planned a week out so shrimp did the trick just fine.

You're telling me. It's been years since I went to a shrimp boil or crawfish boil of any kind. I miss it dearly. San Antonio isn't exactly hospitable to crawfish, and when you mention a crawfish or shrimp boil to people around here, they look at you funny and hand you a tortilla.
