What happens at this river you keep talking about?
We have a river down here where lots of people go boating and have camps. There's a bar that is now home to powerboats and Jersey Shore wannabes. They pretty much ruined the whole reason to go hang out on the river. Used to be just locals now its a bunch of ballers from who knows where with strippers paid to suntan on the deck of the boat all day.

Not that impressive. Ill just go to the strip club instead. Our cool local hangout only accessible by boat was bought by some out of town douchebag and turned it into douchebag central. Techno playing in the middle of the swamp. Sacrilege.

We used to go all the time when I was a kid. The city had a chute that redirected the river water and we would ride the tubes through it and them drift down the river and chill out in the hot sun.
I guess people float the Guadalupe too. We used to do white water rafting on it. It's a longer bigger river that isn't a clear and clean.

It is fun and I miss it a lot
But it's not something I want to do with a 5 and 2 year old at all.
I'll never forget how clear that water is. You can just look straight down at the fish in the water.
Ought to be a good year for it. They've had lots of rain up there. For years they would close the park access to the river and put up signs because of the drought causing low water and parasites
