I had to give mine up when he was 2. I couldn't imagine at 8. Our German shepherd was the best dog ever and he passed away at 7 due to allergies and stuff.

Poor guy. Mine has allergies, but they're not too terribly bad. I give him benadryl when his eyes and his nose run too badly.

He was a pure bred German Shepherd and he started to develop allergies early on. The vet started giving him cortisone shots but that killed off his immune system. best dog ever.
