Just by looking at the difference in the slides, I don't think so. The diameter of the guide rod/spring assembly is larger on the Gen4. You can use an adapter to put Gen 3 in a Gen 4 but, I don't think it'll work the other way around. Hopefully the video I'm trying to embed works. It shows the size difference. Are you shooting a stock plastic rod or steel? I think they make heavier ones to help recoil.

I can see the difference just from the thumbnail of the pic. Im still using the stock plastic. I havent even looked at upgrades for it at all. i just had my first jam out of about 800rnds total in that gun. was about 70 rounds in this weekend and one jammed. cleared it, fired the rest of the mag, threw that one in a mag, tested it, no problems. No idea what caused it.

They don't. You need a heavier rod if you want to keep the barrel from jumping so much.

Cool, Mine are all stock too. I am thinking about getting a stainless steel rod assembly for my G30 though.

That jam sounds like you might not have locked your wrist completely. No biggie. I have qualifications on Wednesday night. Gonna be cold on our outdoor range!

I'm chewing on that comment. As in his wrist blocked the slide? Or not having a locked wrist absorbs a portion of the recoil and therefore affects the slide's ability to eject properly?

I get some stove pipes with my 1911 on occasion and I thought about having the throat worked on. But then again my right wrist is disabled - as in a revolver hurts pretty bad.

I have never bought any parts before like this. I have heard good stuff about midway though. The video I posted came from Glock Store. They look pretty good too. http://www.glockstore.com/custom-parts-amp-accessories

Yeah, sometimes if the wrist is not locked it can cause a jam or stove pipe. I believe it is allowing the gun to move off axis or something just enough to mess with cycling of the slide. Have you tried shooting with some type of wrist support wrap?
