I did buy an on demand water heater to be installed when I get the addition done. Heating oil (kerosene). Fuel is $4/gal but the heaters are very efficient. At the time propane was really high. It has come down a little lately, but nowhere cheap like natgas.

Yeah, gas makes me nervous. I know its probably just as safe as electricity, but I'm skittish about it. Plus we don't have natural gas near me anyway, it would have to be propane and you'd have to deal with having the tank filled and all of that crap.

Yeah I'm not thrilled with gas lines coming in the house.

I had Natural gas for the hot water heater and heat in the house....it was ridiculously expensive....after a $300 bill one month I yanked everything out and put electric in. I figured $300 would go a long way toward a power bill....the biggest my power bill has been was around $170 but averages usually close to $100.
