2018 GT 5.0 BATTERY
Hi there ive been recommended to fit a Bosch S4 E05 12V 60Ah Type 027 EFB S4E05 which is a EFB Enhanced Flodded battery, any one else fitted this battery or equivilent i have been told this is superior to the Yuasa that was in it before!l
Welcome to the forums!
So... this question sent me down a little rabbit hole. Thanks! Very interesting info, those EFBs seem to be a thing to look into indeed!
Problem is, in the US, I can't seem to find them...
Maybe I'm not lookin' the right way in Google or something. Seems they show up all in the UK and that's about it?
The Yuasa model would help on this. Many different Yuasas out there... including EFBs. If it's not an EFB but a standard or even maybe the AGM kind, then if you can spare the extra cash that may be involved, certainly the EFB might be the thing to get. The over double (on paper anyway) at least starts out of the thing compared to standard Flooded type is a grand thing you ask me. 80,000 vs 30,000? That has to mean 'good stuff'. I just can't be certain if it's worth any extra expense over the cheapest standard lead-acid Walmart (in my case) battery that I recommend these days, being they're the same as just about any other battery you can get, just a badge on 'em and maybe a color or two makes them more expensive otherwise.
And with my car's case (and lots of Mustangs since S197 came about, seems), if it kills the battery all the same, was it really worth it? Probably not. Quite a big maybe on my end...
I will say this, that group/type 27 is wrong, they're supposed to have 96. I don't know if that matters, but there it is. But I can see there's not a 96 EFB for whatever reason. I believe the 27 will fit, but it's not going to be the correct dimensions in the cradle, so that's a consideration.
Dunno if that helped. But again, I thank you for the learned info.
Something to definitely ponder on my end, for sure! If I can even get one of those things...
