Front License Plate Holders

In an effort to keep the front bumper on my 2014 Mustang from being drilled for the license plate, I have decided to use one of those alternate plate mounting brackets.

But I have questions regarding the two most popular versions of these mounting brackets.

I like the STO N SHO model because it seems more secure, but have a concern that it lowers the ground clearance slightly and might also tend to get easily damaged when the vehicle bottoms out.

I like the Craig's model because of ease of installation and no modifications, but have a concern about it coming loose.

Any feelings / experiences ?

Thanks.

I had some of your concerns as well and went a different way.

I have the Craig's bracket and a super long Euro plate. I have gone in excess of 150mph for 5 minutes at a time on the autobahn and it hasn't come loose even a little bit. I usually check the bolts every month and nothing yet. I even hit a bird which hit the plate and it didn't do any damage to the bracket/bolts/plate.

I purchased the "STO N SHO" bracket from Big Mike's Performance Parts. The shipping was rapid, and if you're active or retired military, you get a 10% discount. Big Mike is Retired Air Force. He and his wife are really nice folks.

As long as your license plate remains 8" or higher from the road, you'll be legal in all 50.

I have the Craigs Mustang bracket and it works great for what I use it for.
I use it just to get my inspection sticker and then the bracket/plate come off for good until I need the inspection sticker again the following year.
