So the left side stripe tore when i took the tape off, and the masking was wrong on the right side (1/2-3/4 inch too thin) so i fixed it. Only, i ran out of paint, and the repaired right side ripped again (weird as heck) and i tried to match the paint. They didnt have the same can, but its the same brand, just new artwork,

sigh, i hope it looks ok tomorrow

You can see the splotchy part where I had to start using the second can of paint. Its not exactly the same, stupid krylon...

Its not bad enough for me to want to repaint the whole **** stripe though. Stripes are frustrating as hell

Hey Arin, is that a Sirius satellite on your rear window or just a sanding block?

hahahaha

Yup, sanding block. Sirius radio... hahahahaha I don't even have a regular radio that works (the lack of an antenna makes it hard). The head unit itself works, it just can't get reception. I usually just hook my Zune into it with a cassette tape adapter

Just be sure to take the tape off before the paint dries, that way it isn't a solid object that can be pulled off together.

Menacing? Evil?

AWESOME!!!

Pete, Alex sent me a facebook message, she wants me to call her when I put the stripes on. Also, the carb scoop FINALLY shipped, should be here th 18th.. thats cutting it a little close though, the show is on the 21st. I think I may install and paint the new hood before it even gets here, at least in black. I'm also painting the "Ford" on the centercaps of the 10 holes. dunno how it will turn out, but it might be nice

Also, the reason it tore was not bec the paint was dry, but on the left side, i just sat in one spot and yanked. The angle the tape was at got ridiculous, and it started to tear. The tear on the right side was bec i had masked that area off (the red) to fix the black and the tape tore it off bec the new roll of tape was stickier

wow, arin

your car is looking super awesome.

you have an eye for that post-apocalyptic look (first the bike, now this) which is freaking radd!
the tail lights made such a ginormous difference
are you planning on painting the chrome around the car black? it would round it out better, imo.

Thanks guys

And Lalo, I am planning, long term, to make all the chrome gloss black. I think it'll look pretty boss when its done. As for this post-apocalyptic look... well.....

I've watched A LOT of Mad Max

The chrome doesn't look bad but its more that the black is just so

And at this point, its about continuity. The bull bar, the headlight buckets and the Tailight trim are all gloss black. the whole car will flow better if all chrome is blacked out. But I'm not blacking anything else out until I can black it all out at once

It has come to my attention that round foglights just aren't going to work out for the front. There isn't enough longitudinal space for the depth of the lense. I'll have to resort to rectangular fogs that will fill the area beneath the lower part of the header panel, like so

if these don't work out, I'm just going to install a machine gun

It's turning out really good!

That would be a "must have" in there, or a rail gun

Well, the foglights are done

$30 at Kragen. I mounted the switch right on the shifter console. Please also note the crappy "ricer section" boot I bought for my E-brake. I'm sick of it poking me, so I figured why not. plus it matches the car

The included wiring was all pretty good, but i modified it to make it simpler, and easier to tuck. That ancient Ranger wiring harness I have keeps coming in handy, bec it also didnt have enough wire in the first place. They didnt supply any wire for the grounds lol

but alas, here it is
