Arin, it looks great, hope you do get to own it.

You can do some mods to V6 for more power and keep
the front end lighter for better handling than the V8.

Congratulations!!!

Very cool ride! More pictures when you get her!

The owner of a local Mustang shop here in Cincinnati is building his son a WICKED II, he's stuffed 10.5 Cobra Anniversary wheels (you'd almost never know the amount of body work that was done to keep the "stock" look, and is putting a stroker in it, if I remember correctly. It is the first Mustang the gentleman has owned, and he's given it to his son. Not that you would want to cut up a classic, but I do plan on stopping by and taking some pictures of it for all the II fans on the board.

Arin, Nice find! I would highly suggest reconsidering a 351W swap...there is SO much out there for the 302 base engine that there is no need for the added weight of the 351. The car is fairly light to start with so you want to keep as much weight as possible off the front end so that you can keep some level of handling and not turning it into a nose heavy pig. Also remember that things are much tighter in the Mustang II chassis and a 302 based swap would be easier on you and your wallet. You can still get big HP numbers out of a 302....I've had no problems getting 400-600HP out of them...with a power adder ofcourse. Even a Naturally aspirated 302 making 300HP is going to be a blast in that light car

Nice find man. I never really like the 70's stangs for the most part, but the cobra II's have been growing on me. Dont see myself buying one anytime soon, but I do like the body style.

Very nice find Arin!!! I hope all works out for you. Just my humble opinion, but I would drive it around for a few years, get another beater car and then restore it when you have the money with the V6. I know you want an 8 but man the value of that car being original and restored would be phenominal!!

I work with guy that just sold a 76 Cobra II with the six in it for almost 20k. He told me the first thing the guy said when he called was "does the car still have the original engine?" just my .02

Good Luck!!

Paul has a good point there Arin. A lighter car would benefit from a lighter engine

i was thinking about the 302/351 thing. i say 520cid!!!! yeah right, if the price of the engine dont kill me the gas will.

come to think of it, a 5.0 wouldnt be to bad. and a whole lot cheaper too. ill see how it goes.

start for varsity? i hope so. and im working my godly hiney off to get there but honeslty, i think ill play often. unlike last year, i understand plays now and my knee no loner hurts, and plus, my hands are ten times better this year than they were last year (HA! champion of the tennis ball thrown at your crotch drill! i missed once. the next best was 5)only thing some of the other have that i dont is experience... and strength (thats what i get for injuring myself freshman year )

im not the best, but i'm no where near the worst. i like to say a tad above average. but i have goggles (prescription, to see the ball lol) and a 'fro. cant touch die

also mommy called the insuance ppls and its $600 a year!!! only thing is, she made it so if i hit someone they get fixed, but i dont something about a lesson in responsibility or some stupd thing like that.

i will not crash, i will not crash, i will not crash...

just thinked of a nother advantage to the II being a 6. if i buy a 302 block, i can build the motor out of the car, easier to work and i dont have to worry about the car not running when im workin on the engine!

:w00t:

it will look like that toon. i was also thinkin 347

600 for a 16 year old driving a Cobra II is a good insurance quote imo.
