Mustang II New Engine

This is me again... HELLO!!... as you guys know, Im gona redo my Mexican 74 Mach1 and Im looking into new complete engines instead of building and triying an old reconstructed engine... anyways I found a company called World Products that sell a really nice looking and great power maker engine... What they told me is that it looks like a 351 engine from the outside but in the inside its really a 427... here is the link http://www.theengineshop.com/prods_pages/102060.htm im looking into part number 102061 beacuse the block is from iron which makes it stronger, but the heads are aluminum and that gives better horsepower... they seem pricey but not that much... anyone of you got any comments on them? or those engines?... also I liked that engine because I know I can fit a 351 inside a stangII with some minor modifications, and it gives me 500+ hps... if some else has got another engine supplier that is better, moneywise, enginewise, horsepower, overall, etc... please feel free to tell me... world products gives me the complete engine, horsepower and torque dynoed, an 2 year warranty, no matter how much milles I put on it... so what do you guys think?... thanks in advance!!

ALEX

Seems like an awesome engine. but man $12k! I'd rather buy a 4.6SC cobra motor and add some mods, prob cost less then that and produce 600+hp. but of course a mod motor in a II would be a lot of work.

My last Jeg's catalog had some high HP Ford motors. I'd check them out to see how they compare price wise.

The wife and I owned a 74 stang with a 4 banger. Can't imagine a 460 fitting in that hole but maybe??

Yeah the thing is my car came factory with a 302, Ive seen some 351 on others II, but the 400 series is waaaaay to wide and big to fit in a II... thats why the world products 351 outside 427 inside with 500+ hps seems so nice... and cant find a ford 500 hps "small" engine for the II... keep comments comming!!...

351 swaps are a nice way to go. just be sure to know what your budget is first when approaching a swap. a 351 cleveland is a bit nicer due to the 9.2 deck hieght versus the 351 w which has a 9.5 inch deck height. Modular motors are make smoother power but yes they are alot more work to install and one should be prepared to note alot of fabricating to do this swap. I know first hand, LOL

Thanks everyone!!... I have been doing some numbers, betwen world products engines, tranny, axle, differential, suspension, cooling system, clutch, and everything... it gets expensive!!... so a friend of mine told me why dont I buy a "salvage" mustang, 03-04 mach1 or cobra terminator, 05-08 gt or even a shelby gt500, this cars are "very" cheap compared to a non salvage one and we could swap everything on the 74, its a lot of work, but I think is doable... any ideas? Grell? someone else?...

THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE!!!!

The word "doable" implies easieness, and swapping everything over from any other mustang is anything but easy.

You would need a very high quality perfomance shop working for months, possibly even over a year to get it done at all, let alone done right. I would avoid doing something like that. Sure it would be cool, but it would be very, very expensive

Check MPS from time to time they often have a good salvage Stang or three

I still say the Aluminator (NA long block or SC long block)won't be too bad a motor, and the $$$ isn't too shabby

the aluminator is a good deal. Depending on how much $$$$ and how much time and how much experience you have also should be a consideration. For simplicity but yet still a very powerful swap I would suggest a 351 based swap. Use a Moroso oil pan as Milodons do not fit mustang II chassis without modifications.
