Mice, yes. Rats, no. We don't have rats around here.

We occasionally have the everyday field mouse but since we got Lad we don't have a problem at all. The only ones I see are the ones he eats.

I did live in a house as a teenager that had actual rats outside and for all I know in the attic. I would occasionally see them crawling outside on the window ledge. It was an older home in an old part of town with lots of shrubs and bushes outside for then to hide in holes under.

I meant mouse, its interchangeable to me. Little furry four legged long tailed bastard that runs around the house chewing on stuff. I generally say "watch that trap, we've got a rat".

I hate mice, but I think I'd need to be locked up if we had rats in our house. Just the thought.

Sorry, I'm into details.

When cold, it accelerates like a champ, but after driving for a few miles in this heat, it starts to act up. From a stop, I can't rev it too high or else it cuts out real hard, as if the gear popped out. When in motion and constant, it'll sputter for a fraction of a second, Anyone know what's going on with my mustang ? Year 2000 help please

Guess its just what I heard growing up. Rat/mouse same thing. What you're calling a rat, we call a gopher.

Yeah rats and mice interchangeable but we are usually taking about mice. But the rats I saw were like a NY sewer rat I reckon. Much larger. Basically like a baby possum. Dark grey with a pink tail and gnarly teeth.

Ok, gophers don't go into people's houses and try to eat their food. They dig holes in the yard and make a big mess.

That's what I would consider a rat.

Yeah, I know what you mean, what I call a rat is what most people call a mouse. The ones your talking about we always called them gopher rats. See them out in the field when you cut hay or clear brush with a bush hog. Big bastards, take off running everywhere. Used to get them inside my grandmother's house (old closed in porch where the deep freezer and canned stuff was kept) every once in a while when I was a kid. You know those giant wooden Victor traps? Look just like the regular ones but about 5 times the size with a huge spring.

They would trip one of those and take it with them!! You'd come back and the whole thing would be gone. Would have to drill a hole in them and use bailing wire to strap them to something.

Funny stuff pre Seinfeld. Lot of other comics. Except I had to endure a few 20 second spots of Maher. Geez that guy has a big nose. And narrow eyes. Looks like an Irish Setter. Narrow eyes and a big schnoz. And of course not funny and dumber than a sooner dog.
