I have recently become a very firm believer in not texting and driving.
Regan has a friend she worked with last summer who is now a freshman at A&M for engineering. He was top 5 in his class and never drank or did drugs. He was on a religious retreat in a rural area around here where you stay for a weekend of worship and study and they take your phone away while you are there.
It's about 15 miles from town. So early sunday morning he leaves with his phone and starts driving towards town. Apparently the roads were abandoned and he starts texting and driving on the highway. Well just at the edge of town an elderly couple with their young grandson pulls their car out onto the highway at a very slow rate of speed. Well he reacts too late and plows into them. All three of them die. The local paper has photos of the wreck with him sitting in the ditch crying and shaking while the three sheet covered bodies are in the foreground. No alcohol was involved at all. This happened earlier in the school year. Well last week he was indicted by the local grand jury for vehicular homicide. Texting and driving took a child from his parents, parents from a family, and this boys life.

I worry about texting and driving. Im guilty and have had a close call... Sometimes at red lights and stuff (because ours take forever!!) but nobody pays attention anymore. It's scary

I can't do it. Plus it's illegal here.

Wondering the same thing. I hope he's ok!
