I just throw up a couple of fingers and thumb. Thumb out at 3 oclock, index finger straight up, middle finger slightly bent, ring and pinky finger down. I don't do thumbs up, and a full hand wave is too personal for someone you don't know. The 3 finger wave mentioned above fits about right.
