On a plus note, the horticulture department at AU has been for years producing saplings off of the live oaks at Toomers Corner and selling them. They have roughly 1000 in their green houses right now so if and when the time comes that they can replant or whatever, they will be able to use exact offspring of those century old trees.

maybe flush with excess water (towards the limit), then vacuum, (w/perforated pipe in numerous places around the base) that unclean water back out. Repeat.....
Flush it multiple times then replenish with healthy soil tubes. Somewhat similar to a tree on a river bank with its rootstock exposed.
OK, time to fire the barbie for some grilled oysters. I'm thinkin' out loud too much.

They managed to save the Treaty Oak here in Texas after some idiot poisoned it. 500 years old. Wow!

Hey everybody. Sorry haven't been around much. Work is a beast. I've been working 7 days a week for what seems like months. Ive got another meeting in the morning. It's nice to have work though.
House is coming along nicely. We are doing interior trim work. Waiting on cabinets to be delivered. The exterior is mostly done. I've decided to put in a circular driveway now. It's really looking good I think. Maybe I can get some pics if I ever get some free time. The only time I even see it now is when I show it to customers as an example of our work. To think I was going to do a lot of the work myself.
Cars are ok. Just loaned my bronco out to a neighbor whos battery went dead in their Prius. Lol thats gotta be some kind of irony. So now she is driving a 9 mpg gas guzzler.

So I have to have some work done on the Mustang this spring. After it snowed I found a huge crack in the windshield so that needs replacement. I'm also going to have the front bumper replaced from an incident that happened right after I got the car & I'm going to have a GT/CS rear cover installed.
I'm also thinking about having the rear spoiler removed all together and having the holes filled. I always wanted a spoiler delete car maybe it won't cost too much. Not sure if it would be easier to do that or get a spoiler delete rear deck lid and just have it painted.
Then I still have the GT500 rims, A47 mirrors, rear shocks, rear lower control arms & front a-arm brace to install.
I also got a DA buffer and bunch of pads so that I can try to get the water marks out of the paint. Surprisingly enough there are hardly any swirl marks in the paint just the PITA water marks.
On a side note my copy of "Love the Beast" just got here, maybe I can get the GF to watch it with me later...

Roads are nasty as hell. Visibility is probably down to about 50ft. Really impressed with how the Escape handles it though. That thing can get through almost anything.

A la Control-Trac 4WD that was offered on the Exploders for many years. Just adapted for a FWD biased vehicle.
Does it have a switch on the dash that say AUTO or 4WD? I think that is what those had.

Saw this truck today while I was out in town. Looks good, really digging the graphics (minus the front grill treatment). Only downsides, its a 2010 so its got a 5.4L and it doesnt have the indash truck monitoring system that they are putting in alot of the 2011 vehicles.

Good news is Scott, they are easily removed. And the grille can be painted with a can of black trim paint.
So with that in mind it's a good truck.
Not sure why it gets 9 mpg when my 6.2 gets 12mpg though. If you're gonna give up hp might as well save some mpg you'd think.

Needs to be more Astony
I had the Cobra out Friday and Saturday... man I love that car. The car pulls what seems to be endlessly, took it up to 140 and it was still pulling strong. tuner and pulley coming soon.
