I noticed the positive battery cable connects to a terminal on teh driver fender and then the separate wires go out from there. I'd like to upgrade these where possible I guess.

I've heard of Fox fires due to the old stock wiring. Doe anyone know what wires in particular have been an issue? What do I look for.

Plus I'm hopeful that I can get my battery problem fixed on 7. The battery is good and the alternator is good. Both checked out nicely. I think I have a crossed wire draining somewhere. Something is draining this battery in 3 days. It's completely unaffected when the car is running though. I've got some audio noise when the sequential turn signals engage and the brake lights. The noise only comes in a pulse when the brake lights and signal lights are on. I've got to have some kind of short or interference back there somewhere. I'm hoping this might be causing a slow drain on the battery too. I doubt I'll be that lucky though.
Is that the starter solenoid? Get some new terminals too while you're at it. You don't want to completely rip out all the wires because it's just a big maze, and not worth it. Just run a new power wire from the fender/solenoid, and cap off the old power wires. Sorry, I have no clue about the fires.

Suck you're having so many problems with 7's electrical. Could it have something to do with any stock remains of the shaker? I really can't think of anything it could be.

The thing is there was always something of a problem. It's just worse now. When it was completely stock 100% it would go dead in about 10 days. Now with all my aftermarket stuff its down to about 4 or 5 days.

I have removed old Shaker 500 amps, I've removed the Sirius stuff in the trunk I don't use. I turn everything off before I turn the car off. I don't know. It's a pickler.

Could there be some stock shaker wiring being shorted out?

I suppose its possible. Just because it's disconnected at the radio and where the Shaker amp used to be does not mean it is without power. Maybe I should track down that fuse and pull it. I can always run the radio of another fused circuit. Even a new one of its own.

I guess I'll take care of this when I redo the audio. I've got to build new boxes and turn the subs to face the trunk and not the backseat. Plus I've got the new x-over to wire in and the new Kicker amps to wire up. I've got alot of figuring out to do.

Did you order the amps yet? I need to build a box for mine too. All I have is a cheap ebay one now.

Good Luck Edson!!
All amps and speakers are sitting in the garage.

I decided to go with the Kicker 4x120 for the front doors and not amplify the rear speakers. I've actually got the fade set way forward right now because the back speakers kind of annoy me with their presence. Front sound stage sounds great and since no one really ever rides in the back, the back speaker volume really isn't a concern.

Then I've got the 750x1 at 2ohm. I even got some Kicker 10" subs to play with. Might put one in the vert and one in the Bronco. Or try both in 7 just to see what the difference may be. They were buy one get one. I think they are CVR DVC 2ohms if I remember right.

Everything for the vert is here too. All 4 speakers and the head unit. I'm excited to get that one done. I really want to get the frame stiffeners in before I do too much work to the car, they are going to have to be welded and I don't want to damage wires or anything that might be running along the floor when the parts get welded on. Plus I'll have to remove carpet before they get welded. I really need a lift to get this done. My buddy can weld it. Or I'll have to take them to a shop and take my chances there. I really need to get that out of the way though. I don't weld. I'm not gonna be able to do this one on my own.

Sweet. I'm gonna do the same with the speakers in the GT. The rears don't really need to be amped. The connectors should help a lot. That's still something I need to do on the notch. I don't even have a STB on there anymore.

I'm gonna get to bed. Later guys!

Later dudes.

So much work to do.

Then there's the whole tree thing and the lights outside. I hate putting lights on the tree. It bites. I get covered in sap and needles. Stupid Christmas. Stupid trees. Stupid lights. That's gonna blow a whole weekend.

Did you find a ride to take you all the way to the Valley, or are you having to ride a bus part of the way?

I remember having to drive home from Dallas my freshman year. The traffic was a beast. I imagine y'all are coming down through Hallettsville and such. I'd stear as far from Houston as I could today.

Were probably going to take state highway 20 and go to interstate 35 to San Antonio and take US Highway 281 to McAllen

I'd take 21 to just north of Giddings, then 77 down to Victoria, 59 to George West, and then 281 to McAllen.

You know I live in one of the towns listed above.
