I can certainly understand when you don't have enough time for just listening to music at home and especially when at work at the shop when it comes to messing around with CD changers, cassette decks or turntables.

Until I'm finally able to get a new cassette deck, I haven't been able to listen to any of my cassette collection... Same also applies with my vinyl collection as well...

Over the years, my CD collection outgrew my vinyl collection... As for the differences in audio quality CD vs Vinyl, I've noticed that before CD's made the switch from being engineered/recorded in analog to digital, the sound quality was much cleaner and softer that was nearly identical to vinyl... However, since the engineering/recording process moved from analog to all digital formats, is when CD audio quality became far less superior to vinyl... Whenever I listen to an older CD that was recorded and engineered in analog (AAA) the sound quality is just like listening to a vinyl record, only without all the pops and crackles... By comparison, whenever I listen to a CD which was recorded post 1990 in either digital (ADD) or (DDD) is when I notice how the sound quality is much harsher along with a significant increase in harmonic distortion, especially within the higher/upper mid ranges...At any rate, since performing the sound comparison experiment between CD analog vs CD digital, I now have a much better understanding of the definition when folks describe by comparison how vinyl or analog produces such a warmer, fuller range sound quality over digital... Needless to say, I totally get exactly where they're coming from and couldn't agree more lol...

I Seem to Recall The Last Time I Went into Tower Records was To Purchace the Enya Cd Caribean Blue. I Had Heard The Song on an Episode of Hunter! Circa 1989 I Also Miss Friday Evenings Getting a Good Video For The Family At Blockbuster in The 90'S It Was an Event! And MTV Was the Thing Mid 80's Along With 1970's Midnite Special!

Music & Cars Go Hand in Hand! Just Like Our Cars are A Form of Time Travel So Are The Songs That we Tie To Events! A listen to a Special Song and The Event Becomes Fresh in Your Mind Again!

Oh And Who Did Not get a Music Collection Boost From Columbia House and The Penny Offer!

Song Sure Sounds Better Than The First Couple of Lines of The Lyrics Read! It's On My Current itunes List.

Lyrics
Eurus, uuuh, uuuh, uh, eeh, eeh
Afer Ventus, eeeh, eeh, eeh
So the world goes round and round
With all you ever knew
They say the sky-high above
Is Caribbean blue
If every man says all he can
If every man is true
Do I believe the sky above
Is Caribbean blue?
Boreas, eeh, eeh, eeh, eeh, eh, eh, eh
Zephryus, uuh, uuh, uuh, uuh, uuuh
If all you told was turned to gold
If all you dreamed was new
Imagine sky-high above
In Caribbean blue

Enjoy,

Kc

I never had cable growing up so I never got to watch MTV until I went to college and got cable for the house I lived in off campus...so I only had my college years before MTV went down the toilet. And cable back then was only $13/month...times have certainly changed! And Columbia House...yes! I had a few different names and addresses to take advantage of that offer..

The days before cell phones! I'm sure glad there were no cell phones with cameras back in my college days!

I even wish we could go back to the days of no cell phones.

Absolutely couldn't agree more! We must be around the same age! Thank God cellphone cameras weren't there when I was in college!

Sounds like it....I actually grew up just south of you below Annapolis, MD. College was in Western, MD at FSU where the only thing to do was party or freeze...sometimes both!

Just wait until you don't care with the quality of the recording, no matter what I listen to now goes through the 2 little speakers at the end of the hearing aid wires

Don't know if that was the Bose Home speakers in the back seat of the Gran Torino with the 1500 Watt Heathkit Amp or all the years around Detroit Diesel 2 Cycle motors in the swimming pool industry

I Feel For You Brother! I Got One Bad Ear and When the Good Ear is on the Pillow at Night It's Awfully Quiet! Our TV's Seem to Be Getting Watched at Louder Volumes This Days As Well! For Years I Wondered Why I Never Could Keep the Stereo Balance Control in the Center! Background Noise Is Problematic.

At The End of My Parts Career It Was Getting Real Hard Understanding Those Calling in on Cell Phones. Lots o Background Noise at a Car Dealership! Especially at the Back Counter. Then The Eye's I Think I'm Maxed out on Cheater Strength! Another Reason I Hate Smart Phones The Small Screen Just Don't Show The Whole Story!

Unfortunately, we didn't have Tower records here in Southwestern, PA, but we had Oasis records and National Record Mart in which I had the pleasure of being an employee in their warehouse as a packing/orders dept clerk... I was an employee for them until they finally went out of business in 2001-2002.

Me, my brother and a good friend used to go to Tower Records every weekend.
There was one in Burlington, MA and one in Boston, MA. We used to go to the Boston one a lot more.

Ahhhhh,.........the good 'ole days!
