It had to be used so for half the price of a new GT 'vert I got a '14 with just 8,800 miles on it. I still owe my wife a few grand but it's much better than owing so much more. Yeah, it needed tires to replace the originals still on it, fluid changes, etc... but all set to go for many years I hope.
When I ordered and made the deal in late 21 the base price was 72 IIRC, but a few months later it jumped to well over 74, so my sticker when it finally came in November 22 (yes, a freaking year later, not a typo) it was about 2300 IIRC more than what I ordered (would have to get the sticker out to be sure) but the dealer honored the deal we had.

I think we're all screwed, let alone young people trying to get into it like we did when we were young.

With the way used cars have gone recently, even that's a much harder thing to do than it used to be. Crazy .

I've only seen one in person, when mine was finally delivered a black Mach came on the same truck. It was in the showroom and I looked at it but was so occupied with mine that I didn't even think to look at the sticker on it.

Yes indeed, it sure is thanks to inflation and the microchip shortage due to the pandemic...Therefore, I couldn't agree more!

I need to clarify the post after looking at my sticker and some paperwork, my mind is getting feeble and I was mistaken. When I went to order it I was going by the build site on Ford, it was listed as base being 72. When the order bank opened for 22 models and I ordered it had jumped to 74, by the time I finally got it the base on my base sticker shows it jumped to 76,800.

I actually like the dash and interior as pictured. Depending on what the final pricing shakes out to be I'm still open to getting one.

Did some more digging and a Dark Horse edition will be a hen's tooth find. Only 6 total vehicles are being produced and I AM NOT playing that game. Just going to get a loaded GT Premium and have fun with it!

Hmm...

Sounds like that classified info originated by the always dependable and well informed local Ford dealers.

sort of. I also found an article from CJ Pony Parts stating that dealership will only get 1 allotment each and will only get more depending on their sales volume.

It happens every time there is a Mustang special edition, Ford and its dealers always replay and sing the same tune: "It is the best, most rare and powerful Mustang ever made. Thank you for your support Loyal Mustang Fanatics... and BTW, let the markups begin".

Yet everyone who wants one always winds up getting one and six months down the line there will be a bunch new and used still available.
