Steeda Tri ax shifter problems

I installed a steeda tri ax race shifter in my 2017 mustang gt. The shift to first gear is very difficult, it feels like it stops against something between reverse and first gear. I've tried the stiffest spring and the less stiff spring. I'm about to take the spring out completely, but I really don't feel like this is the problem. Has anyone else had this concern?

I would go to CJ Pony Parts and view the Steeda Tri Ax shifter install carefully. Bill Tumas goes over everything in detail..... Maybe just maybe you did something wrong. The install is pretty much straight forward if you have any experience it can be done in no time. There should NOT be any interference going into gear. Hope this helps.

If you decide to swap out your shifter for another brand, I highly recommend MGW. Tight shift pattern but zero gear engagement problems. Feels like a top-loader shifter, with much shorter throws than stock.

Have you contacted Steeda yet? They have always been more than willing to help when I have install questions or issues.

I have the Steeda race Triax shifter in my car and it works great. It was a little stiff the first week or so, but it smoothed out as it broke in and it's totally smooth now. I never had any issue with first gear or any others.

Thanks for your reply, something is definitely wrong. Hopefully tomorrow I can get it apart and see what's causing my problem. What spring are you using?

I've got the softer spring. Never tried the stiff one or going without, the soft one feels good to me.
