SD Card Slot

The owner's manual indicates that the navigation system uses the SD Slot.

Does the navigation system use the SD Slot full time, or just for downloads?

I wanted to use the SD Slot for music storage.

The maps for the navigation are on the SD card so if you remove it you won't be able to use the navigation.
