Illuminated door sills

Just installed some OEM illuminated door sills on my 2015 GT. It's just a simple plug in install as the 2015 comes prewired, however the things aren't working. They're supposed to illuminate when the door is opened so I figured they would be on the same fuse as the overhead lights and the ponies under the mirrors. All the other lights are working just fine, which leads me to believe the door sills have a dedicated fuse. I've checked both fuse boxes along with the owners manual and don't see any open spots for the doors sills.

Anybody else ran into this issue that can shed some light on this?

Maybe the BCM controls the power signal? Or a relay not installed?

BCM?? There's no empty slots in the fuse panel on the passenger side kick panel which is where I would imagine the fuse would be for interior lighting (I could be wrong of course ).
I'll have to take another look at the relays in the fuse box under the hood.
Thanks for your help

Did you find any solution to your issue? I'm having the same problem in my 15 GT 50 years appearance package. Please help!

JoeyD, I still haven't got them working yet but read on another forum that on the 2015 Mustang with the 50 year appearance package for some crazy reason the ford engineers decided not to wire it all the way to the fuse box. The same poster said he got his working by spice into the underdash ambient lighting which I'm not comfortable doing, so I'm still for a better solution. It really makes no sense as to why Ford would not wire it completely on only the 50 year appearance package as it has nothing related to the electronic system.

Where did you connect the sill plates too? The wires in most instructions for adding these say it is up in the A pillars.

In the 2015 Mustang premium they come prewired for the door sills so it should be a simple plug and play. Apparently if you got the 50th year appearance package you only get the plug but not the play.

Have you checked the wiring diagram and follow the wires?

@Jazzman, a friend of mine checked out the wiring and showed that they come to a dead end right behind the glove box. I'm guessing some form of extension cable is required to complete the wiring to the fuse box.

I'm wondering if anyone here has the wiring diagram so they can look this up. it should have the contention points. Maybe you could just order the connecting cable. Some one here posted it before.

Good luck.

Same issue but fixing

Hi guys,
I have the exact same model and issue. I bought the Roush version and there is no power to them although they plug right in. I removed the My Color light and attached harness from under the footwell on the drivers side. Real easy to do. Even easier on the passenger side. My plan is to solder into this cable on the bench, then reinstall and run the wires down to the plugs at the sills. Honestly this should be very easy. Im traveling now but hope to have it done at the end of Feb. I'll take pics.

Here is the harness prior to any splicing.

Mike
