2018 GT PP Oil Pressure

I bought a new 2018 GT with the Performance Package in March. The oil pressure seems low with 35 PSI cold and 25 PSI hot. What kind of oil pressure are you seeing with your car?

Mine is 20 at 600 rpms and about 40 at 2000 rpms. Both are with engine at operating temp.

Thanks for the reply. My idle pressure is about the same but my pressure at higher RPM isn't as high. I was thinking it should have 50-60 PSI at 2000 RPM+, maybe these new gen 3 motors just don't need as much pressure?

I have a '14 GT with a stock Gen 1 engine. I suppose it might be considered a Gen 1-B since the pistons were changed in '13 from the original design used in '11 & '12 and the piston squirters [ 8 internal oil leaks ] were deleted. I use an Autometer electric oil pressure gauge with a remote mounted sending unit. The oil is Mobil 1 5 W 30 full synthetic. The pressure at hot idle is 26 psi. Pressure at interstate speeds [ 65-80 mph ] and just under 2,000 rpm to just over 2,200 rpm is 70-80 psi. Above 4,000 rpm it pegs the gauge at 100 psi. I don't know how this relates to Gen 2 or Gen 3 engines, but I would expect it to be comparable.

Hmm, that's interesting. Your pressure seems more in line with what I'd expect. I'm taking the car to the dealer Wednesday to get the windows tinted, I'll ask the service manager and see what he says?

I noticed this as well that O/P seemed a little low at idle and around town. As long as you are above 18 psi hot you are good to go. Don't forget there is now 10 Quarts of oil in the pan. That's a lot of oil to push through the system and the Oil Pump has to work harder. I checked with a friend of mine who works for Ford He said the engineers are aware and have designed the engine to perform at these pressures. The weak link has always been the pump gears in almost every application. Ford has run these engines into the ground and they haven't failed yet.

I put on about 550 miles on the car yesterday and it was steady at 30 PSI at around 2000 RPM the entire time..

low oil pressure

I received my 2020 GT yesterday and notice that the oil pressure runs about 30 pounds at cruise but when engine is loaded goes up to about 60 pounds. It is so repeatable that I believe it is controlled somehow by the computer. I have not been able to verify this however.
