10 spd torque converter shudder
OK my good people, my '18 GT 10spd AT has had a TQ shudder for the last several thousand miles. Mainly when traveling at lower speeds/rpm's. When you give 'er a little gas is when I get the shudder. The factory tune sux, and holds the gears to the point of lugging the engine, and of course if I make it downshift I don't get the shudder. I've had the fluid checked, and it's full. I was thinking of a reflash just to see if the relearn would help, but I thought I would ask if anyone has any suggestions first. I would hate too go through a long relearning process, and have the same shudder when it's done. TIA

Get the updated Ford factory reflash at the dealer and make sure you have the driving cycle relearn sequence followed correctly. I had mine done and it fixed all of the problems including the slow hanging downshifts in regular mode. I have a 2018 GT A10 as well.

Jim, I do not know of any Ford number but I had them delete the current A10 software and install the latest updated version from Ford which they did. At the end, the car must be driven on a 30 minute learning drive cycle which I performed instead of the dealer tech to save time. They actually handed me a Ford printout to follow which I did to the letter and the end result was huge...like a new car for me. My car still pulls like a rocket in sport mode but all other issues were corrected without any wrenching. 2018 was the first year for this all new A10 and the engineers made some running changes to the software to fix early issues. Good luck.

@Stage_3 I'm hoping not. It just acts stupid at times. If the car set for a few days it may take a little to hook up in first, or it bumps when you shift to drive. It get sloppy between gears, and of course that dang shudder. Things clear up a little in sport mode, but it can be stupid there also. To me it seems to be the factory tune more than anything. So, I hope the update will do the trick. It'll be a few weeks before I can get 'er to the dealer, but I'll report back.
Hopefully it's just an update! Good luck and keep us posted.

UPDATE
Finally had a chance to get the car to the dealer. After talking with the Service Writer we decided to start with a simple re-flash. I'm happy to report the A10 feels better now than it did the day I drove it home. There are no more hard bumps when putting it into drive, no more shakes/shudders, and the shifts are crisper. Before the re-flash the tranny would always be in a higher gear when going up inclines causing the engine to lug. When going at a slower speed (city driving) up an incline I would have to let off the gas, and then hit it quick to get it to downshift. Thankfully that is gone also. It doesn't upshift on the incline like it did before, and it will downshift on it's on and not lug the engine. Instead of letting Mi-Lady break it in I will be doing it this time. She has a tendency to just putter around town, and I'm hoping a little harder break in will do the trick this time.
Thanks again for the help guys. That's what I like about this forum. There's always someone ready to help.
