It's an appeal factor. everyone is on the eco fad so Ford throws that name out there and captures the people that are looking for the "green" factor. then they are clearly appealing to us gearheads with the possibility of dropping it in a mustang. along with the new Taurus being quite awesome.

My reason for posting wasn't to dump on the Mustang, but to show the EchoBoost is not a dog, and really should be given a chance, if Ford decides to go that route. I was impressed a 4400lb+ AWD Taurus could muster that power. Imagine if the engine was in the new Mustang, which is supposed to lighter then the current model.

I don't think that anyone is saying ecoboost is a dog. I'm saying a 4-cyl in a Mustang is just wrong, and I don't care what power adder it's got bolted to it, or how much power it makes as a result. It just ain't right. And imagine if that motor was in a current Mustang...
